Our program on base is deed for the convenience of students with erratic schedules. It is our intense desire for students to be successful. For that reason, we have staff that is willing to work with the student. If there is a reasonable way to do what needs to be done for a student, Western is willing.

To ensure the success of service members interested in taking courses or obtaining a degree from Western, perspective students are directed to speak with their Educational Services Officer ESO or counselor at Altus Air Force Base prior to enrolling in the institution. Many times, students can complete both degrees simultaneously without having to take any additional courses.
AAS in Military Studies degree plan. As an institution, Western understands there may be times when duty calls and students are required to engage in extensive training or full deployment.
If possible, instructors will work diligently with students and devise a plan that will allow for course completion. In many cases, the additional support needed can come directly from your instructor! In addition, many students qualify for help through the WINDS program, which provides tutoring along with academic advising and many other services. However, It is not possible to offer all classes on base.
For example, we cannot put laboratory facilities on base. On base classes are offered in the evenings in Bldg 87 in the 8-week format. Western works in conjunction with the Education Office at AAFB to provide the classes pertinent to AD military personnel to meet their educational goals.
It is possible to work toward a Western degree plan and allow the courses that are taken for the Western degree to also fill requirements for the CCAF. This can be done provided that the student pursues them both at the same time.
There should be no problem with this. Western's instructors have to meet the same requirements as those in the bigger schools. A course at Western should be as good as the same course being taught anywhere else. There should be no logical reason for them not to be acceptable at other schools.
The one exception is that a college cannot accept credit in an area that it does not have an equivalent program in. It is important to spend considerable time asking, "What can I see myself doing someday, that I could enjoy doing for a career? Think about things that you just enjoy learning more about.
